Important Notes for Purchasing Leather

The prices quoted in our catalogue are based on average skin sizes, at the single skin price. Discounts are offered on quantity purchases of any one type of leather, approximately as follows: 10% for 3-6 skins; 19% for 7-11 skins; 27% for 12-23 skins; 34% for 24-119 skins and 40% for 120+ skins. Skin sizes vary. If there are increases from the costs quoted to you online and actual costs, we will contact you with accurate costings prior to processing your order, requesting your confirmation that the prices are acceptable.

Notes for Finishing on Skiver
|
We finish the Sheepskin Skiver with a coating which lends itself well to the application of metallic, pigmented and genuine gold foils. If your own finishing requirements involve the application of Gold Leaf or Blind Tooling, we would need to finish these leathers for you using a different process. Please contact us for further details at sales@hewit.com. The fair Skiver will also accept Gold Leaf.

Smooth Skiver
This leather is produced from the outer grain layer of sheepskins. As with the Smooth and Glazed Goat, we take aniline dyed leather and apply a pigmented finish coating on top.

Standard Substance: 0.4 mm

Glazed Skiver
This leather is produced from the outer grain layer of sheepskins. As with the Smooth Skiver, we take aniline dyed leather and apply a pigmented finish coating on top. In addition to which we add a gloss laquer coat.

Produced the same way as the Smooth and Glazed Skiver, but with the addition of an artificial grain effect.
