Garden Reflections
Written and Illustrated by Ann Tout
270 x 167 x 13mm

These illustrations are watercolour printed using leaves and flowers from her garden. The whole book is on Griffen Mill handmade paper.

It is Autumn and the day has been warm. The sun shining through the branches catches the petals as they tumble in the breeze.

Bound in Hewit's deep red calf with a watercolour painted and printed panel underneath transparent vellum. Red goatskin onlays. Deep blind tooling, using own filed brass tools to create the branches of the tree. These tooled marks are painted in various shades of acrylic to highlight the glow from the sun. The petals are also blind tooling painted in subtle shades of pink. The endpapers are watercolour paintings of a fathomless evening sky. They are painted on handmade paper. Tope edge gilt. Silk headbands. Brown linen drop back box.
