Hewits is a small, family run tannery based in Scotland. Our luxury, hand-crafted leather is carefully selected and tailored specifically for bookbinding and leathercraft, serving both professional businesses and passionate hobbyists. Through our extensive online shop, we offer a wide range of equipment, tools, materials and sundries to meet the needs of craft and commercial bookbinders around the world.
We regularly have discounted and second-hand items available in our Bargain Basement.

We are a well established company with a 200 year History of manufacturing the finest quality leathers for bookbinding and leathergoods production. We are proud to have held a Royal Warrant for nearly 50 years, firstly to Her Majesty the late Queen Elizabeth II, and more recently to His Majesty King Charles III.
