USA Shipping Update

You may have heard about the recent executive order from the US President that changes how import tariffs are handled, coming into effect at the end of this month. As a result, we’re temporarily suspending all Royal Mail postal services to the United States.

Postal services around the world, including Royal Mail, are working on new solutions to fit with the US's updated customs and import rules. We’ll keep an eye on any changes and let you know as soon as better options become available.

In the meantime, courier shipping is still available at checkout. It’s usually faster than standard post, and many customers already prefer it for that reason.

Just a quick reminder - as always, you’ll be responsible for any import duties, taxes, or fees when your order arrives. Some of our products are made outside the UK, so certain items may be subject to higher tariffs.

We are really sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, and we appreciate your  understanding; it’s one of those things that is just out of our hands.

Thank you for bearing with us!

Additional notes

As of August, US import duties now apply to all shipments from the UK, regardless of value, due to the removal of the USD $800 de minimis exemption. This means that most products with a Country of Origin listed as the UK will now be subject to:

  • A baseline tariff of 10%, and
  • Any additional product-specific duty rates based on the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS), which vary by product type and country of origin.

Example:
For an order of Goatskin Leather valued at USD 1,000, manufactured in the UK:

  • Product Value: USD 1,000.00
  • Baseline UK Tariff @ 10%: USD 100.00
  • HTS Code 4106.22.1000 (Goatskin Leather) @ 2.4%: USD 24.00

Total Import Duty: USD 124.00

Please note: The courier may also charge a handling or processing fee, typically around 0.5% of the shipment value.

Some of the items we sell have other Countries of Origin and these items may attract a different baseline tariff.
