Fully veg tanned leather, with a seal grain embossing, these skins are perfect for hobbyist and professional bookbinders alike. Available in both full skins and half skins, in a range of 5 traditional colours.
A Natural Product
These skins will have some small marks and imperfections present as they only have a light aniline finish. Aniline finishing avoids the use of a pigmented, resin based coating that covers up the natural surface of the skin, allowing the character and life of it to be seen. It also results in an attractive two-tone look that shows beautifully on the lighter colours, and makes every skin unique!
Sustainability Practices
This leather is made from Indian goatskins, sourced from reputable tanneries employing local practices in their production. As with all of our leathers, our skins are only sourced as a by-product of the food industry. This allows a valuable natural material to be used rather than discarded, helping contribute towards a more circular economy and the reduction of landfill. The tannins used in this leather are derived from quebracho and chestnut trees, ensuring a workable leather that is more eco friendly and heavy metal free.
