Much of my time is spent on restoring the bindings of early printed books. This means using new leather, dyed to match existing bindings, usually for re-backing. Over a number of years, John has supplied light tan calf suitable for such work. He describes on the phone in helpful detail what Hewit's have to offer. This is then promptly despatched. Excellent service every time.

For those trying to improve binding skills, this mixture is very helpful. Mistakes can often be remedied and corrected.
